Josette Manuel

Josette Manuel is a Partner at Shepstone & Wylie's Pietermaritzburg office, specialising in litigation and dispute resolution. She has extensive experience in general and commercial litigation, family law matters including divorce, maintenance, and right of access to minor children, domestic violence applications, tender disputes, liquidations, restraint of trade agreements, and road accident claims.

She regularly drafts, presents, and opposes bills of costs in the High and Magistrate Courts, attends Rule 37 conferences with counsel, and advises on estates, motor vehicle claims, and commercial disputes. She is a member of the Chamber of Women in Business and PCB, a Panel member of the Legal Practice Council (LPC) dealing with complaints, and a member of the Probono help desk providing legal assistance to the public who cannot afford legal services.

Josette holds an LLB from the University of KwaZulu‑Natal (UKZN).
