Craig Kennedy

Craig Kennedy is the Head of Technology, Media and Telecommunications at Bowmans' Durban office, advising clients operating in or entering the African market on a broad spectrum of commercial agreements including telecom infrastructure sharing, fibre optic network deployments, system integration, software development and licensing, IT services, outsourcing and distribution.

He has acted for major clients including MTN, Vodacom, Neotel, Eaton Towers, Ericsson, Standard Bank, Tata Communications, National Treasury, City of Johannesburg and SABMiller on large-scale infrastructure projects, IT procurements, and corporate transactions. Notable matters include advising on MTN's fibre optic network deployment, the proposed sale of Neotel to Vodacom, a ZAR1 billion outsourcing contract for Safmarine, and the Main Civil Works contract for the Medupi Power Station (valued at nearly R3 billion).

Craig holds a B.Com and LL.B from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He is consistently ranked by Chambers Global for IT & Telecommunications and FinTech Legal in South Africa, and recognised by Best Lawyers for Corporate Law.
