Andrew Buchmann

Andrew Buchmann is a Senior Consultant in the Cape Town office, practicing in International Trade Law. He is a South African attorney and English solicitor who specialises in all legal aspects of international trade, including the sale of goods, carriage of goods by sea, trade finance, insurance, and dispute resolution.

He advises commodity trading companies, energy and natural resources companies, banks, and inspection companies. His commercial approach frequently results in time-consuming and costly disputes being avoided, and where disputes cannot be avoided, he has extensive experience handling disputes in arbitration at the various commodity trade associations, including GAFTA, FOSFA, SAL and RSA, as well as at the LCIA, the ICC, SIAC, and in courts both locally and internationally.

Andrew holds an LLB and BA from the University of Cape Town and completed the QLTS at BPP Law School in London. He is admitted as an attorney in South Africa and as a solicitor in England and Wales.
