Alexandra Clüver

Alexandra Clüver is Co-Head of Projects, Energy & Infrastructure in the Cape Town office, practicing in the firm's Energy Law and Infrastructure practice. She guides local and international clients through the complexities of project development and financing, specializing in the energy, infrastructure, and oil and gas sectors within South Africa and the broader Sub-Saharan region.

Ms. Clüver's expertise includes structuring equity and debt funding arrangements such as limited recourse financing, portfolio financing, and project financing, as well as private equity and secondary market transactions. She has advised Rand Merchant Bank on numerous renewable energy projects, including the 240MW Virginia Solar PV transaction under REIPPPP Round 6, the 89MW Castle Wind Farm (the first private power deal for Sibanye-Stillwater), and the 128MW Oya Energy Hybrid Project combining solar, wind, and battery technologies. She has also advised Envusa Energy (a joint venture between Anglo American and EDF Renewables) on the financing of 520MW of renewable energy, and Actis on the sale of BTE Renewables.

Alexandra holds an LLB from University College London (2001) and completed the Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School (2002). She is an English qualified lawyer and has worked in London, Berlin, Bangkok, and Singapore. She has been ranked by Chambers Global in Band 4 for Projects & Energy in South Africa (2025-2026), by Legal 500 as a Leading Partner in Projects and Infrastructure, and listed by Who's Who Legal: Energy as a market-leading energy lawyer in South Africa.
